The more I travel, the more resources I use to plan my trips and research our activities. Below are a few of the places I frequent to get the best tips, tricks and deals. These are not paid sponsorships - just my pro tips.

There are some incredible discounts and deals on travel out there when you learn how to use and maximize credit card points. You can use your card's travel portal or transfer points to their partners to get great rates on hotels, rental cars, flights and more. My husband and I have acquired many CC points by optimizing signup and referral bonuses over the past several years and this has saved us some serious $ on our trips and we look forward to using those benefits going forward.

There are facebook groups for any place imaginable. If you are planning your trip well in advance and are looking for personal recommendations on hotels, activities, rental cars etc. Find the facebook group for your desired destination, request to join. Be a respectful member - use the search feature and review the guides before you post a question (that has probably already been answered several times). I also recommend posting trip reports when you get back, this helps future travelers have recent reviews!Groups I'm currently in to plan future trips/share my tips

Similar to facebook pages, there are an infinite number of reddit threads and conversations available to plan your trips. I have found some incredible advice on these pages and learned from others mistakes and discovered hidden gems by just reading existing posts/comments. Generally speaking the comment section is where all of the good info is - I've never posted or comment, but I soak in all of the information!
